About MLRC
Practice Overview
Momentum LRC is a life and relationship coaching-consulting practice focused on helping adults better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns influencing how they think, feel, communicate, choose, and respond.
My work is informed by my background in clinical mental health counseling, training and supervised experience with Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), formal training in Ontological Coaching, and continued study of human behavior, relationships, communication, and personal development.
I founded Momentum LRC to provide a space for work that is reflective and compassionate while also practical, direct, and accountable. The goal is not simply greater insight, but greater ability to use that insight to make deliberate and meaningful changes.
Mission
My mission is to help individuals and relationship pairs develop greater self-awareness, flexibility, personal responsibility, and clarity so they can navigate life and relationships more intentionally and make choices that are increasingly aligned with their values.
Values
Compassion and Accountability: I believe people can be treated with understanding and respect while also being encouraged to examine their beliefs, choices, patterns, and contributions to the situations they want to change.
Curiosity and Clarity: Growth often begins with becoming more curious about what we are experiencing, what we are telling ourselves about it, and what other interpretations or responses may be available.
Personal Agency and Responsibility: I help clients identify what is within their influence without assuming responsibility for what belongs to someone else. Personal responsibility is not the same as self-blame.
Integrity and Respect: I strive to practice honestly, responsibly, and within the appropriate scope of coaching-consulting while respecting clients’ privacy, autonomy, values, experiences, and individual circumstances.
Service Philosophy
My approach integrates life and relationship coaching with consulting, drawing primarily from Rational Emotive Behavior principles and Ontological Coaching while incorporating other relevant, evidence-informed tools and communication frameworks.
Rational Emotive Behavior–Informed Coaching
My work is informed by training and supervised experience in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), with its principles adapted appropriately for coaching rather than psychotherapy.
A central focus is examining the relationship between circumstances, beliefs, interpretations, emotions, and behavior. Clients may explore the stories they are telling themselves, the expectations they are holding, and whether particular beliefs are helping them respond effectively to the situation in front of them.
The purpose is not to eliminate uncomfortable emotions or replace every difficult thought with a positive one. Instead, we work toward greater flexibility, perspective, emotional responsibility, and the ability to choose responses that are more useful and consistent with the client’s goals and values.
Ontological Coaching
Ontological Coaching explores how language, emotions, the body, beliefs, and habitual ways of interpreting experience influence how we move through the world.
Rather than assuming that our first interpretation of a situation is the only possible one, this approach creates opportunities to notice the distinctions we are making, the stories we are living from, and the possibilities we may not yet be seeing.
Changes in awareness can then support changes in how a person communicates, relates, makes decisions, and takes action.
Consulting
Consulting adds a more practical and strategic dimension to the work. At times, a client benefits not only from reflection and exploration but also from information, perspectives, tools, communication strategies, or concrete options to consider.
Depending on the situation, I may offer observations, education, frameworks, suggestions, or practical strategies while keeping the client’s circumstances, values, and autonomy at the center of the process.
Bringing It Together
Coaching, consulting, and the frameworks that inform my work are used flexibly rather than as a rigid formula.
Sometimes the most useful work involves examining a belief. Sometimes it involves changing a behavior, setting a boundary, having a difficult conversation, making a decision, practicing a new skill, or reconsidering what someone has assumed a situation means.
The aim is to help clients see themselves and their circumstances more clearly, expand the responses available to them, and translate insight into intentional action.
Momentum LRC provides coaching-consulting services, not psychotherapy, diagnosis, or mental health treatment.
